A well-resourced mainstream primary school is looking for a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join its supportive team. Led by a warm and dedicated headteacher, the school combines personalised classroom learning with a forest curriculum delivered by specialist teachers in its woodland grounds.
A valid driving licence and your own car are essential. The school's rural setting is inaccessible by public transport.
The Role - Learning Support Assistant
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will help children overcome barriers to learning, with a particular focus on Autism (ASD).
Your role will combine individual support with wider classroom involvement. Rather than assigning one adult permanently to each child, the school rotates 1:1 support so children develop confidence and positive relationships across the staff team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Making learning accessible through adapted activities and clear explanations Supporting Numeracy, Literacy and the wider primary curriculum Helping children communicate their needs and manage their emotions Encouraging friendships, independence and participation Delivering personalised activities guided by specialists, including Speech and Language Therapists Sharing observations with teachers and TAs to support each child's developmentThis Learning Support Assistant position needs someone who is interested in how children learn, as well as providing patient, nurturing support.
