About the Role
Our client, a significant player in the industry located in Portsmouth , is seeking a proactive Legal Counsel with a specialization in commercial contracts to join their established legal team. This role is fundamental to supporting the company's commercial operations by ensuring robust and compliant contractual agreements. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of contracts, providing strategic advice, and mitigating legal risks associated with business transactions. This is an exciting opportunity for a contract lawyer to contribute to the success of a dynamic organization within the Hampshire region, working primarily on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a high volume of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, service contracts, and NDAs.
- Advise business stakeholders on contractual terms, risks, and obligations.
- Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws and company policies.
- Support the legal team on various commercial legal matters and initiatives.
- Maintain and update contract templates and playbooks.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience.
- Strong expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts .
- Excellent understanding of contract law and commercial legal principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with business teams.
