About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to support their manufacturing operations in Edinburgh . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of all production machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing breakdowns, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. Your expertise will help minimize downtime and ensure the efficiency of the production lines in this key manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on plant machinery.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and restore functionality as quickly as possible.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
• Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and performance.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during maintenance tasks.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and preferably hydraulic/pneumatic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards in an industrial environment.
• Relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC) is highly desirable.
