Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client, a significant manufacturing entity in Edinburgh , is searching for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician . This role is essential for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of all production machinery and facility equipment. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment, utilize your technical expertise, and contribute to the operational uptime of critical manufacturing assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all production machinery and facility systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment failures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed.
• Install and commission new equipment as required.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations in the performance of duties.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
