Manufacturing Engineer - Process Improvement

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on Process Improvement to join their team in Cambridge . This role operates on a hybrid model, offering a blend of on-site work and remote flexibility. You will be instrumental in analyzing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing solutions to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing principles and lean methodologies, enabling you to drive tangible improvements within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for optimization.
• Design, implement, and validate process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques and data analysis.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions and flow charts.
• Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing defects and implement corrective actions.
• Support the introduction of new products or equipment into the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Degree in Manufacturing Engineering , Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering or process improvement role.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, VSM).
• Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and practical application skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, adaptable to a hybrid work structure.
