About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead their production facility in Nottingham . You will be responsible for the overall management of manufacturing operations, driving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across all production lines. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that production targets are met and that the facility operates at peak performance, contributing directly to the company's strategic objectives and market position.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, from raw material intake to finished product dispatch.
- Develop and implement strategic operational plans to achieve production, quality, and cost targets.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, engineers, and associates.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments, including R&D, sales, and supply chain, to align operations with business goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing management, with a proven track record of success.
- Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies and their application.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and change management skills.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
