About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the marine industry, is seeking a skilled Marine Mechanical Engineer to join their operations in Plymouth . This role is critical for the design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical systems on marine vessels and associated equipment. You will be involved in projects that require a deep understanding of naval architecture and marine engineering principles, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems in a challenging maritime environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and install mechanical systems for marine applications, including propulsion and auxiliary systems.
- Conduct performance analysis and ensure compliance with maritime regulations and standards.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of existing marine mechanical equipment.
- Collaborate with naval architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and reports for marine projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues encountered during vessel operation or construction.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
- Proven experience in the marine or offshore industry, with a strong understanding of marine mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with marine propulsion, hydraulics, and piping systems.
- Knowledge of relevant maritime codes and classification society rules.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
