Mechanical Chargehand

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Mechanical Chargehand on an 3 Month Contract based in Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of installation teams on site.

• Oversee primary equipment installation on GIS and AIS substations.

• Carry out and supervise substation earthing installations.

• Ensure works are completed in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.

• Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality on site.

• Assist with lifting operations and equipment positioning where appropriately qualified.

• Liaise with site management to ensure project deadlines are achieved.

• Provide hands-on support to installation teams when required.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Primary Chargehand, Supervisor or Lead Fitter on HV substation projects.

• Strong experience with GIS and AIS equipment installation.

• Proven knowledge of substation earthing systems.

• SSSTS or SMSTS certification.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• NPORS or CPCS Lift Supervisor certification.

• First Aid at Work certification.

• Previous experience working on major UK transmission and distribution projects.
