About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Drafter to contribute to their engineering team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role focuses on translating engineering concepts into precise technical drawings and models that support the manufacturing and assembly processes. You will work collaboratively with engineers, utilizing CAD software to produce accurate documentation, ensuring that designs meet all specified requirements. This hybrid role allows for a balanced approach to work, combining in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely on specific tasks, fostering a productive environment in Staffordshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
- Ensure all drawings and documentation adhere to company standards, industry specifications, and client requirements.
- Assist mechanical engineers in developing design concepts and preparing for design reviews.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other necessary documentation for production.
- Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve drafting-related queries and issues.
- Maintain and organize CAD data and project documentation efficiently.
Requirements
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Drafter or Designer using CAD software.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team, both on-site and remotely as needed in Stoke-on-Trent .
