About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a specialization in the automotive sector to join their team in Wolverhampton . You will be responsible for the design and development of critical automotive components and systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive mechanical components, such as powertrain parts, chassis elements, or body systems.
• Utilize 3D CAD software to create detailed designs, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
• Conduct engineering analysis, including stress testing and performance simulations, for automotive applications.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive industry .
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
• Solid understanding of automotive systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 or similar quality management systems is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and a meticulous approach to design challenges.
