About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a specialization in the automotive sector to join their team in Wolverhampton . You will be responsible for the design and development of critical automotive components and systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and testing departments, to bring innovative automotive solutions to market. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive mechanical components, such as powertrain parts, chassis elements, or body systems.
- Utilize 3D CAD software to create detailed designs, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
- Conduct engineering analysis, including stress testing and performance simulations, for automotive applications.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production.
- Participate in design reviews, providing technical insights and ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Stay updated on automotive industry trends, technologies, and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive industry .
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
- Solid understanding of automotive systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 or similar quality management systems is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and a meticulous approach to design challenges.
