Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join their thriving engineering department based in Wolverhampton . This role focuses on the hands-on design and development of novel mechanical solutions for a variety of industrial applications. You will be involved in the entire design process, from initial concept generation and detailed 3D modeling to the creation of manufacturing drawings and supporting prototype builds. Key Responsibilities

• Design and detail mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
• Produce accurate manufacturing drawings, tolerances, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Perform basic engineering calculations to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production.
• Assist in the assembly and testing of prototypes and new product developments.
• Document design changes and updates following company procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant HND/HNC qualification.
• 2-4 years of experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with common manufacturing processes and materials.
• Good understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team in Wolverhampton .
