Mine Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair operations for their mining equipment and facilities near Nottingham . Operating on a hybrid schedule, this role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and operational readiness of all plant and mobile equipment, thereby maximizing uptime and efficiency. You will lead a team of skilled maintenance technicians, manage spare parts inventory, and implement preventative maintenance programs. This is a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the mine.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including mechanics, electricians, and technicians.
• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all mining equipment and fixed plant.
• Oversee the repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy mining machinery.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective procurement.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and prepare reports on equipment performance and repair costs.

Requirements

• Technical qualification or apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related trade.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a heavy industrial or mining maintenance environment.
• Strong knowledge of heavy mobile equipment (e.g., haul trucks, excavators, drills) and fixed plant machinery.
• Proven experience with preventative maintenance strategies and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model, balancing on-site supervision with off-site planning and reporting.
