About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Mine Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations at their facility near Portsmouth . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of all mining equipment, minimizing downtime, and upholding stringent safety standards. You will lead a team of skilled technicians, manage maintenance schedules, and oversee both preventative and reactive maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy machinery maintenance within the mining industry and possess excellent leadership and organizational skills, contributing to efficient operations in Hampshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including mechanics, electricians, and welders.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance schedules for all mining equipment.
• Oversee reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring rapid diagnosis and repair of equipment failures.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies specific to the mining sector.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide training and development opportunities for maintenance personnel.

Requirements

• A recognized qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent trade certification.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Proven experience with heavy mining equipment such as excavators, drills, crushers, and conveyors.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance strategies and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
• Familiarity with health and safety legislation pertinent to mining operations near Portsmouth .
