Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term mine plans, production schedules, and reserve estimates.
• Utilize mine planning software to design open-pit or underground mine layouts, including access routes, drilling patterns, and blasting sequences.
• Conduct mineability studies and economic evaluations of mining proposals.
• Collaborate with geology, operations, and environmental teams to integrate data and ensure plan feasibility.
• Monitor mine performance against plans and implement adjustments as necessary to optimize extraction.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on mine planning activities and outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency with industry-standard mine planning software (e.g., Vulcan, Deswik, Surpac).
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints.
• Knowledge of geological modelling and reserve estimation techniques.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate geological data into practical mine plans.
