About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Mine Surveyor to join their operations near Bristol . This role is essential for accurately mapping and measuring the mine environment, ensuring that all operations adhere to planned designs and safety specifications. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to monitor mine progression, control excavations, and establish precise boundaries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of surveying principles applied to mining and experience with modern surveying technology. You will work closely with mine engineers and geologists to provide critical spatial data that guides safe and efficient mining practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct underground and surface surveys to establish mine boundaries, control points, and infrastructure locations.
- Monitor and record the progress of mining operations, ensuring adherence to design plans.
- Prepare and interpret topographical maps , cross-sections, and 3D models of the mine.
- Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- Calculate volumes of ore, waste, and stockpiles for production reporting.
- Ensure all survey data is accurate, well-documented, and communicated effectively to relevant teams.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Mine Surveyor or in a similar surveying role within the mining industry.
- Proficiency with surveying software and data processing tools.
- Experience operating and calibrating survey instruments for underground and surface applications.
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems and projection methods used in mining.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a field environment.
