About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mining Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of their mining operations in the Coventry region. This pivotal role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of resources while maintaining compliance with all environmental and safety regulations. You will lead a diverse team of mining professionals, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in strategic planning, resource management, and the implementation of innovative mining techniques to enhance operational performance and achieve business objectives within the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational plans to meet production targets and budgets.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Manage and supervise all mining personnel, including engineers, geologists, and operational staff.
- Oversee the maintenance and deployment of mining equipment and machinery.
- Implement best practices in mine planning , scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mine management , with a proven track record of operational success.
- Strong knowledge of underground and/or surface mining methods and technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Proficiency in mine planning software and production management systems.
- Valid certification as a Mine Manager or equivalent is highly desirable.
