About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Mine Operations Manager to oversee all day-to-day activities at their significant mining site near Coventry . This leadership position requires a strategic thinker adept at managing complex underground and surface operations, ensuring optimal production, safety, and cost-efficiency. You will be responsible for directing a diverse workforce, implementing innovative operational strategies, and maintaining compliance with all industry regulations. This role is critical for driving productivity and upholding the highest standards of operational excellence within the West Midlands mining landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all aspects of mine operations, including drilling, blasting, hauling, and processing.
- Develop and implement operational plans to meet or exceed production targets safely and efficiently.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors, engineers, and operational staff.
- Oversee the maintenance and effective utilization of all mining equipment and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record of successful underground mining operations and large-scale surface mining.
- Strong understanding of mine planning software, production scheduling, and cost control methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
