About the Role
Our client seeks a highly accomplished National Account Manager to manage key relationships with major grocery multiples and retail chains for their FMCG portfolio, operating from Edinburgh . This strategic role involves developing and executing account plans that drive profitable growth, expand distribution, and enhance brand presence within these critical retail channels across the UK. You will be the primary point of contact for these high-profile accounts, working closely with them to understand their needs and align them with the company's commercial objectives, ensuring a strong partnership and maximized sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive annual business plans for assigned national accounts to achieve sales, profit, and distribution targets.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key decision-makers within major retail organizations.
- Negotiate terms of business, promotional plans, and pricing structures to maximize commercial outcomes.
- Analyze account performance, market data, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Work closely with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, finance) to ensure seamless execution of account plans.
- Present strategic account reviews and forecasts to senior management.
Requirements
- Proven success as a National Account Manager or Key Account Manager within the FMCG sector, managing major UK retailers.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective account strategies and achieve challenging targets.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and financial literacy.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing sales data and market trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
