About the Role
Our client requires a skilled Network Cabling Engineer for a series of projects across the Sunderland area, with the potential for remote work on specific tasks and planning phases. This role involves the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems for data networks. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliable performance of communication infrastructure for our clients. The ideal candidate is meticulous, experienced, and capable of working both independently and as part of a project team in the Tyne and Wear region.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and manage network cabling infrastructure, including Cat5e, Cat6, and fibre optic cables.
- Terminate, test, and certify network cabling systems using industry-standard equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair existing network cabling faults to ensure optimal connectivity.
- Read and interpret network diagrams, floor plans, and technical specifications.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and company standards during all installation activities.
- Provide accurate site reports and documentation upon completion of tasks.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a Network Cabling Engineer or Structured Cabling Installer.
- Proficiency with network testing equipment (e.g., cable certifiers, network testers).
- Knowledge of various cabling standards and best practices for data networks.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately, both on-site and potentially remotely for planning.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure components and their interdependencies.
- A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to different sites within Sunderland and surrounding areas.
