About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Remote Telecoms Field Engineer to join their expanding UK-wide team. While this role is designated as fully remote , it requires significant travel to client sites across various regions to perform essential installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications infrastructure. You will be a key technical resource, ensuring the operational integrity of complex network systems and providing expert on-site support. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment at customer premises, adhering to strict technical specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on network infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to voice, data, and video communication systems.
- Provide on-site technical support and guidance to end-users and on-site IT personnel.
- Collaborate remotely with the core engineering team to share findings and implement solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of site visits, work performed, and equipment status through a remote reporting system.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Telecoms Field Engineer or similar technical role.
- Strong knowledge of various telecommunications technologies, including fibre optics, DSL, and wireless systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment relevant to network infrastructure.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the UK, often with short notice.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to fault finding.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
