About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nursery Manager to lead their established childcare setting in Edinburgh . This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care and education. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing the nursery's strategic vision, managing staff, fostering strong relationships with parents, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. This role involves a hybrid approach, requiring both on-site presence for operational management and team leadership, and remote capabilities for administrative tasks and strategic planning. You will be a key driver of quality, innovation, and positive culture within the nursery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and education are maintained.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of childcare professionals, providing regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements and inspection frameworks.
- Manage the nursery budget effectively, including financial planning and resource allocation.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, children, staff, and external agencies.
Requirements
- Minimum of a relevant childcare qualification (e.g., SVQ Level 4/5 in Childcare and Education, BA in Childhood Practice).
- Significant experience in a senior childcare management role, with a proven track record of successful leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and relevant childcare legislation.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, health, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage hybrid working effectively.
