Operations Manager - FMCG Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to lead their FMCG manufacturing facility in Stoke-on-Trent . This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met while driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will manage a dedicated team, optimize production processes, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality FMCG products to market. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, fostering a culture of high performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations within the Stoke-on-Trent facility.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, troubleshoot production issues, and implement preventative measures to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering departments to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in operations management, preferably within the FMCG manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing production facilities and implementing operational improvements.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and quality management systems.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in managing budgets and controlling operational costs.
