Operations Manager - FMCG

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee their manufacturing and distribution operations in Wolverhampton . This role is critical for ensuring the efficient and effective production and delivery of FMCG products, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cost control. You will lead a dedicated team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and manage the entire operational workflow from raw material intake to final dispatch. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of FMCG manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize day-to-day operations, including production planning, quality control, and logistics.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of operational staff to achieve departmental goals.
• Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations within the operational sites.
• Manage budgets and P&L for the operations department, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and procurement, to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an Operations Management role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality standards.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
