About the Role

Our client is looking for an adventurous and qualified Outdoor Pursuits Instructor to lead a variety of exciting activities for groups at their centre near Plymouth . This role involves facilitating experiences such as kayaking, climbing, hiking, and team-building exercises, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants. You will be responsible for preparing equipment, delivering engaging sessions, and managing group dynamics in an outdoor setting. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction and supervision for a range of outdoor activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times, adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Prepare and maintain activity equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and properly stored.
• Adapt activities to suit different age groups, abilities, and group sizes.
• Conduct pre-activity briefings and post-activity debriefs with participants.
• Assist with the general upkeep and maintenance of the outdoor centre facilities.

Requirements

• Relevant National Governing Body (NGB) qualifications for outdoor activities (e.g., ML, BCU, RCI).
• First Aid certification (e.g., First Aid at Work or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience in instructing outdoor pursuits to diverse groups.
• Strong understanding of outdoor risk management and emergency procedures.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational skills.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
