About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and precise Payroll Accountant to join their fully remote finance team, supporting employees across the UK, with administrative ties to Plymouth . This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, managing payroll-related compliance, and reconciling payroll data with the general ledger. You will be a key point of contact for payroll queries and will contribute to maintaining efficient payroll operations in a remote-first environment. Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
- Manage payroll reconciliations, including the reconciliation of payroll to the general ledger.
- Administer statutory deductions, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions.
- Handle employee payroll queries efficiently and professionally.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end payroll reporting (e.g., P11Ds, P60s).
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably in an accounting context.
- Good understanding of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, and National Insurance.
- Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) and accounting software.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
