About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Payroll Accountant to manage their payroll operations and associated accounting functions in Bradford . This role requires a meticulous individual who can ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll, along with maintaining relevant financial records and compliance. You will work closely with HR and finance teams to guarantee smooth payroll operations and accurate financial reporting related to employee compensation. This position is key to maintaining employee satisfaction and financial accuracy within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Manage payroll queries from employees and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare payroll journals and reconcile payroll accounts in the general ledger.
- Ensure accurate calculation and payment of PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits, such as pensions and company car schemes.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments.
Requirements
- Proven experience in payroll processing and accounting.
- Knowledge of PAYE regulations , National Insurance, and other payroll-related taxes.
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll).
- Good understanding of accounting principles for payroll reconciliation.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
