About the Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to manage their payroll processes and associated accounting functions in Bristol . This role is vital for ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time, while also maintaining compliance with all relevant payroll legislation. You will work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data into the company's financial systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll specialist with accounting knowledge to take ownership of a key financial process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Process new hires, leavers, and changes to employee pay and benefits.
- Calculate and process statutory deductions, including PAYE, NI, and pensions.
- Reconcile payroll reports with the general ledger and investigate any discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and company policies.
- Liaise with HMRC and pension providers as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Payroll Accountant or senior payroll role.
- Knowledge of payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, ADP) and strong Excel skills.
- Understanding of UK payroll legislation and tax regulations.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and general ledger reconciliation.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
