Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their research and development team in Norwich . This role is integral to the design, development, and optimization of novel drug delivery systems and dosage forms. You will conduct formulation studies, characterize drug products, and contribute to the progression of pharmaceutical candidates from early-stage development through to commercialization. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled scientist to work on cutting-edge pharmaceutical projects in Norfolk.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop stable and effective pharmaceutical formulations for various dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables).
• Perform characterization studies on raw materials, intermediates, and finished drug products.
• Optimize formulation processes and troubleshoot development challenges.
• Collaborate with analytical development, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.
• Document research findings and prepare technical reports for regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Strong knowledge of drug delivery systems, excipients, and dosage form design.
• Proficiency with relevant laboratory equipment and analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, dissolution testing).
• Excellent understanding of GMP principles and regulatory requirements for drug product development.
