Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their R&D department, operating on a hybrid basis with a primary location in Norwich . This crucial role involves the design, development, and optimization of pharmaceutical dosage forms to ensure optimal drug delivery, stability, and patient compliance. You will work on exciting projects from early-stage development through to pre-formulation and formulation optimization, contributing to the successful progression of our client's therapeutic pipeline. This is an excellent opportunity for a scientist passionate about drug product development within a leading pharmaceutical organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop various pharmaceutical dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables, topicals).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies to characterize drug substances and excipients.
• Optimize formulations for improved bioavailability, stability, and manufacturability.
• Perform compatibility studies and develop appropriate analytical methods for formulation evaluation.
• Collaborate with analytical development, process development, and regulatory affairs teams.
• Prepare documentation for formulation development, stability studies, and regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Strong understanding of drug delivery systems, excipient functionality, and dosage form design.
• Experience with laboratory techniques for formulation development and characterization.
• Knowledge of GMP principles and regulatory requirements for drug product development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
