About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and skilled Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their Product Development team in Derby . This role is essential for designing, developing, and optimizing drug delivery systems and final dosage forms for new pharmaceutical products. You will play a crucial part in transforming drug candidates into safe, effective, and stable medications for patients. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop various pharmaceutical dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables, topical formulations).
- Conduct pre-formulation studies to assess drug substance properties and excipient compatibility.
- Optimize formulations for stability, bioavailability, manufacturability, and patient compliance.
- Perform analytical testing of formulations to evaluate physical and chemical properties.
- Support technology transfer of developed formulations to manufacturing for scale-up and commercial production.
- Write detailed development reports, protocols, and other documentation for regulatory submissions.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Strong understanding of drug delivery principles, excipient science, and dosage form design.
- Proficiency with analytical techniques relevant to formulation characterization (e.g., DSC, TGA, dissolution testing).
- Experience with regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical product development and submission.
