Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their Research and Development department in Norwich . This role is central to the design, development, and optimization of drug delivery systems and dosage forms for new and existing pharmaceutical products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate scientific discoveries into viable, stable, and effective medicinal products. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop various pharmaceutical dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables, topical formulations).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including physicochemical characterization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
• Optimize formulations for improved bioavailability, stability, and patient compliance.
• Plan and execute formulation development experiments, analyze data, and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Collaborate with analytical scientists to develop and validate analytical methods for drug product testing.
• Support technology transfer of formulations to manufacturing and ensure successful scale-up.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Strong knowledge of drug delivery technologies and solid-state chemistry.
• Experience with common laboratory equipment used in formulation development and characterization.
• Familiarity with GMP guidelines and regulatory requirements for drug product development.
