Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their Research and Development department in Reading . This critical role involves the design, development, and optimization of novel drug delivery systems and dosage forms, ensuring drug product efficacy, stability, and patient compliance. You will work at the forefront of pharmaceutical science, translating drug candidates into viable medicinal products. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust pharmaceutical formulations for various routes of administration (e.g., oral, parenteral, topical).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including API characterization and compatibility testing.
• Perform formulation optimization studies to enhance drug solubility, bioavailability, stability, and manufacturability.
• Utilize and develop various analytical techniques to characterize drug product performance and quality attributes.
• Scale-up formulation processes from laboratory to pilot and manufacturing scale, collaborating with process engineers.

  Requirements
• PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Strong knowledge of drug delivery technologies, excipients, and dosage form design.
• Hands-on experience with formulation development techniques and analytical characterization methods.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic R&D setting in Reading .
