About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their dedicated R&D team based in Milton Keynes . This role is central to the design, development, and optimization of stable, effective, and patient-friendly pharmaceutical dosage forms. You will leverage your expertise in pharmaceutics to translate scientific concepts into viable drug products, working closely with analytical and process development teams. The successful candidate will contribute to pipeline advancement within a collaborative and resource-rich environment, playing a key role in bringing new therapies to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop novel pharmaceutical formulations for various dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, injectables, topicals).
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility testing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
- Perform excipient screening and selection to optimize drug product performance and manufacturability.
- Utilize laboratory equipment for formulation development, characterization, and pilot-scale manufacturing.
- Document experimental results, interpret data, and prepare technical reports to support regulatory filings.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Strong understanding of drug delivery systems, excipient functionality, and dosage form manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with laboratory techniques for formulation development and characterization.
- Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
