Pharmacovigilance Officer

About the Role

Our client is a leading pharmaceutical entity committed to the safety and efficacy of its medicinal products. We are seeking a diligent and thorough Pharmacovigilance Officer to join our dedicated safety surveillance team in Edinburgh . This essential role involves monitoring, detecting, assessing, and preventing adverse effects or any other drug-related problems associated with our pharmaceutical products. You will play a vital part in safeguarding public health by ensuring the continued safety profile of our medicines throughout their lifecycle, working within a robust safety framework and a supportive regulatory compliance culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and evaluate adverse event reports from various sources.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of safety information to regulatory authorities.
• Contribute to the preparation of periodic safety update reports (PSURs/PBRERs).
• Participate in the development and maintenance of pharmacovigilance procedures and systems.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Information) on safety matters.
• Conduct literature searches for safety signals and contribute to signal detection activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Pharmacovigilance or drug safety.
• Solid understanding of global pharmacovigilance regulations and guidelines (e.g., GVP, FDA regulations).
• Experience with safety databases and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
