Plant Manager - Automotive Components

About the Role

Our client seeks a seasoned and results-oriented Plant Manager to oversee all operations at their key manufacturing facility in Coventry . This critical leadership role involves managing production, quality, maintenance, and safety functions to ensure efficient and cost-effective output of high-quality automotive components. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing strategic initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement within the plant. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and a commitment to achieving ambitious production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all plant operations, including production, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain logistics.
• Develop and execute annual operating plans and capital expenditure budgets to achieve strategic objectives.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001 , IATF 16949) and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
• Implement and maintain robust health, safety, and environmental (HSE ) programs to ensure a safe working environment.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of supervisors and associates to achieve plant goals.
• Manage supplier relationships and optimize inventory levels to support production demands.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience highly desirable.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a Plant Manager role, preferably within the automotive sector .
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
• Proven experience in budget management, cost reduction, and driving productivity improvements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES ) and enterprise resource planning (ERP ) systems.
