About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer specializing in Automotive Components to join their team in Birmingham . This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality parts and materials essential for the automotive manufacturing process. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and identifying opportunities to enhance the efficiency of the supply chain. Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure a wide range of automotive components and raw materials, ensuring quality standards and delivery schedules are met.
- Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost reductions and improve value.
- Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular reviews, and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand material requirements and forecast future needs.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier information, and inventory levels.
- Stay informed about market trends, new materials, and technologies relevant to the automotive sector.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Buyer , preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive components and supply chain dynamics.
- Proven negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings.
- Experience working with ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
