About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join their distributed team, offering a fully remote working opportunity from anywhere in the UK. This role is critical for the design, analysis, and optimization of large-scale power systems, including grid infrastructure, substations, and energy generation facilities. You will provide expert technical guidance, conduct complex simulations, and contribute to the strategic planning of our energy solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and transient stability studies.
- Design and specify electrical components and equipment for high-voltage substations and transmission networks.
- Develop protection schemes and coordinate relay settings for complex power systems.
- Contribute to the planning and design of grid integration for new energy generation sources.
- Develop technical specifications, standards, and best practices for power system design and operation.
- Provide expert consultancy and technical support to project teams and stakeholders remotely.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in power system engineering, including design, analysis, and protection.
- Proficiency with industry-standard power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP).
- Deep understanding of power system fundamentals, equipment, and operational principles.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for remote collaboration and reporting.
