About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and dedicated VoIP Systems Engineer to join their IT department in Oxford . This role is focused on the design, implementation, administration, and support of the company's Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure. You will ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our communication systems, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to upgrades and new deployments. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain VoIP telephony systems, PBX platforms, and associated network infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and resolve faults related to voice quality and connectivity.
- Manage user accounts, call routing, voicemail, and other system features.
- Implement security measures to protect the VoIP infrastructure from unauthorised access and threats.
- Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and new feature rollouts for the VoIP system.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on VoIP services and features.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the administration and support of VoIP systems (e.g., Asterisk, Cisco Call Manager, 3CX).
- Strong understanding of VoIP protocols such as SIP, RTP, and H.323.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Experience with call centre technologies and unified communications platforms is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, specific vendor certifications) are advantageous.
