PR Director (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and experienced PR Director to spearhead their public relations efforts in a completely remote setting. This senior leadership role is responsible for setting the strategic direction for all PR activities, including media relations, corporate communications, brand reputation management, and crisis preparedness. You will lead a team (potentially distributed) and work closely with executive leadership to ensure that communication strategies align with and drive business objectives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with extensive PR experience, a proven ability to manage complex communications, and a commitment to fostering a strong, positive brand presence, all while excelling in a remote work structure and contributing to a culture of impactful storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive, long-term public relations strategies and campaigns.
• Oversee all media relations activities, including proactive outreach, crisis management, and spokesperson preparation.
• Manage and mentor a team of PR professionals, fostering collaboration and professional development.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for media inquiries and act as a company spokesperson when appropriate.
• Collaborate with marketing and other departments to ensure integrated communication efforts.
• Measure and report on the effectiveness of PR initiatives, providing strategic insights to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in public relations, with a significant portion in a leadership or director role.
• Proven track record of success in developing and executing high-impact PR strategies for national or global brands.
• Exceptional media relations skills, including established relationships with key media outlets.
• Expertise in crisis communications and reputation management.
• Strong leadership, team management, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
