About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Precision Agriculture Specialist to join their forward-thinking agricultural consultancy based remotely, supporting farms across the Wolverhampton region and beyond. This role focuses on leveraging technology to optimize farm management, enhance crop yields, and promote sustainable practices. You will work directly with farmers, advising them on the implementation and use of precision farming tools, including GPS guidance, variable rate application, remote sensing, and data analytics. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, possesses a strong understanding of agronomy, and is passionate about driving agricultural efficiency and sustainability through digital solutions, contributing to modern farming practices in the West Midlands .
Key Responsibilities
- Advise farmers on the selection, implementation, and calibration of precision agriculture technologies.
- Analyze farm data, including yield maps, soil sampling results, and sensor data, to provide actionable insights.
- Develop variable rate application prescriptions for fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides based on spatial data.
- Provide training and ongoing support to farm operators on the use of precision agriculture equipment and software.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in agricultural technology and best practices for data-driven farming.
- Collaborate with agronomists and other agricultural professionals to integrate precision data into broader farm management strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with precision agriculture technologies such as GPS, VRT, GIS, and remote sensing.
- Proficiency in analyzing large datasets using relevant software platforms.
- Strong understanding of crop physiology, soil science, and integrated pest management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise and train farm clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage a remote client base across England .
