About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Process Engineer specializing in mineral processing to provide remote support and optimization for their global operations. This role focuses on analyzing and improving the efficiency, yield, and environmental performance of ore processing plants. You will work with operational data, P&IDs, and metallurgical accounting to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, combining remote analysis and reporting with periodic site visits to key operational locations. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the optimal recovery of valuable minerals.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze metallurgical accounting data to identify areas for process improvement.
- Develop and implement optimization strategies for mineral processing circuits (e.g., comminution, flotation, leaching).
- Troubleshoot operational issues remotely and provide timely technical guidance to site teams.
- Review and update process flow diagrams (P&IDs) and operating procedures.
- Conduct technical reviews and feasibility studies for process upgrades or new installations.
- Prepare detailed reports on process performance, recommendations, and project outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mineral processing operations or consulting.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet).
- Strong understanding of chemical thermodynamics and kinetics relevant to mineral processing.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation for process optimization.
- Willingness to travel periodically for on-site assessments and support.
