About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Engineer specializing in Process Optimization to join their global team, working entirely remotely from Edinburgh or anywhere else. This role is central to driving significant improvements in efficiency, yield, and sustainability across our diverse manufacturing operations. You will leverage advanced analytical techniques and cutting-edge modeling tools to identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement data-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex process data to identify opportunities for optimization in yield, energy consumption, and waste reduction.
- Develop and implement advanced process control strategies and optimization algorithms.
- Lead cross-functional teams in troubleshooting and resolving challenging operational issues affecting production performance.
- Conduct detailed techno-economic assessments for proposed process improvements and new technologies.
- Develop and maintain process models for simulation, prediction, and optimization purposes.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, UniSim) and advanced analytical tools.
- Demonstrated experience in statistical process control (SPC) and data analytics.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, separation technologies, and thermodynamics.
- Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
