About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager specializing in Capital Equipment to oversee significant investment projects from Cambridge . This role is crucial for managing the end-to-end procurement process for high-value machinery, technology, and infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, leading complex negotiations, and ensuring that capital expenditure delivers maximum value and aligns with project timelines and company objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, excellent contract management skills, and a proven ability to manage large-scale procurement projects effectively within a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for capital equipment purchases.
- Lead negotiations with major equipment manufacturers and suppliers for high-value assets.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of capital equipment procurement, from tendering to installation and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, financial regulations, and project budgets.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams, and finance departments.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new technologies and potential cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or contract management, with a strong focus on capital equipment.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating complex, high-value contracts.
- Excellent understanding of financial principles, TCO analysis, and investment appraisal methods.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management; CIPS or equivalent is highly desirable.
