About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Procurement Manager to oversee the sourcing and acquisition of capital equipment. This is a fully remote position that requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in high-value purchasing and complex project management. You will be responsible for developing procurement strategies for major capital investments, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and finance teams across the organization, providing expertise in all aspects of capital equipment procurement and supporting the company's growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for capital equipment projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers for large-scale capital equipment purchases, securing favorable pricing and terms.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of capital equipment procurement, from needs assessment and supplier selection to contract finalization and delivery oversight.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key capital equipment suppliers.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for capital procurement projects.
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, and finance teams to ensure seamless integration and successful project outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement, with a specialization in capital equipment sourcing .
- Proven success in managing large-scale, complex procurement projects and multi-million pound budgets.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
- Deep understanding of capital expenditure processes and financial analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
