Procurement Specialist - Engineering Components

About the Role

Our client is seeking a technical and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist with a focus on Engineering Components to join their established team in Nottingham . This role is vital for sourcing and procuring specialized components required for manufacturing and product development, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate technical specifications and terms, and work closely with engineering teams. Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure a wide range of engineering components , including machined parts, electrical components, and specialized materials.
• Evaluate potential suppliers based on technical capabilities, quality standards, capacity, and cost.
• Negotiate purchase agreements, ensuring favourable pricing, delivery schedules, and adherence to technical specifications.
• Collaborate closely with the engineering and design departments to understand component requirements and identify potential alternatives or improvements.
• Manage supplier performance, conduct regular reviews, and resolve any quality or delivery issues.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with a strong specialization in engineering components or related technical fields.
• Proven ability to negotiate technical specifications and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and quality control principles.
• Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and procurement software.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Nottingham , with the requirement to be office-based.
