Procurement Specialist - FMCG Raw Materials

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing of raw materials for their FMCG operations in Liverpool . This role is essential for ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of high-quality ingredients and packaging materials required for production. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring supply chain resilience. The hybrid work model allows for essential in-office collaboration with the production and finance teams, while also offering flexibility for remote supplier engagement and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure high-quality raw materials and packaging for FMCG production, meeting specified cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers, building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best possible value.
• Monitor market trends for raw materials and commodities to inform purchasing decisions and mitigate risks.
• Manage inventory levels in collaboration with the operations team to ensure continuous supply and minimize waste.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, ethical sourcing standards, and company procurement policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, ideally within the FMCG industry.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage data and track supplier performance.
• Knowledge of raw materials and packaging relevant to the FMCG sector.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing tasks both remotely and from the office.
