About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their purchasing department in Coventry . This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services required for operations. You will work closely with various internal departments to understand their needs, identify suitable suppliers, and manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the overall efficiency and strategic goals of the procurement function within this West Midlands-based organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned categories, including sourcing, RFQ/RFP processes, and contract management.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and performance.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimize value.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define specifications and ensure procurement meets operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
- Familiarity with sourcing strategies and supplier relationship management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite , particularly Excel, and experience with procurement software.
