About the Role
Our client is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join their team in Birmingham . This role is crucial for managing day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring timely acquisition of materials and services while adhering to budget constraints. You will work closely with various departments to understand their procurement requirements, source appropriate vendors, and process purchase orders efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the smooth operation of the supply chain and supporting the company's financial objectives in the West Midlands region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned categories, including requisition processing, vendor selection, and order placement.
- Source and evaluate new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliability.
- Conduct price comparisons and negotiate favorable terms for goods and services.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely delivery of supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all purchasing policies and procedures.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement-focused role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or procurement software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor and stakeholder engagement.
