Product Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client, a prominent innovator in the FMCG sector, is seeking a skilled Product Development Scientist to contribute to their research and development efforts in Bradford . This role involves the formulation, testing, and scaling-up of new products, ensuring they meet consumer needs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to bring exciting new products from concept to market. Key Responsibilities

• Formulate new product concepts and optimize existing product formulations to meet performance, cost, and quality targets for the Bradford site.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, pilot plant trials, and scale-up studies for new product development projects.
• Analyze product performance data, conduct sensory evaluations, and ensure products meet stringent FMCG standards.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to understand consumer needs and translate them into product specifications.
• Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure seamless transition of new products from R&D to production.
• Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant industry regulations and internal quality standards.
• Stay abreast of scientific advancements and emerging technologies in product formulation and development.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in product development, with a strong preference for the FMCG industry.
• Proven experience in formulation development, experimental design, and data analysis.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and quality assurance principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to scientific challenges.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
