Product Development Technologist - FMCG

About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in the FMCG sector, is looking for a skilled Product Development Technologist to join their dedicated R&D team in Bristol . This role is instrumental in bringing new and improved products to market, focusing on formulation, sensory evaluation, and ensuring product quality and safety. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and regulatory affairs, to deliver commercially successful and high-quality consumer goods. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and reformulate FMCG products according to technical specifications, consumer insights, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct laboratory trials, scale-up trials, and factory support to ensure successful product launches.
• Perform sensory evaluations and product testing to ensure quality, consistency, and consumer acceptance.
• Collaborate with the purchasing team to source and evaluate raw materials and packaging components.
• Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety standards, quality management systems, and relevant legislation.
• Prepare technical documentation, including product specifications, process instructions, and nutritional information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in product development or technical roles within the FMCG industry .
• Knowledge of food chemistry, formulation, processing, and quality control principles.
• Experience with laboratory work, sensory analysis, and scale-up processes.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and compliance.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting in the Bristol area, with excellent problem-solving skills.
